The Indoor Generation

I just returned from the first annual Environmental Toxins and Genomics Conference in Denver, CO.

Speakers included Neal Nathan MD, Joseph Merolca, DO, Stephanie Seneff, PhD, Jill Carnahan, MD, Lari Young, MD, Sandeep Gupta, MD, Robert Miller, Emily Givler and Mackay Rippey.

Topics included:

  • EMF and NADPH-Dangers of EMF and how it can affect our metabolic processes
  • Phase 1 Detox and the CYP Enzymes and how genetic weaknesses can have a profound effect on health
  • Autophagy and M-tor
  • Glyphosate and how it impacts the critical Phase II pathway of sulfation
  • Glucuronidation and the importance of this detox pathway, the genetic involvement and support for these issues.

The conference focused on how Functional Genomic Analysis(DNA analysis) can help identify how our genetic makeup can make us more susceptible to toxins in the environment and how we can support our body to deal with these exposures.

Support of metabolic pathways, taking each of our unique genetic makeup into consideration was discussed in-depth.

Analyzing DNA helped explain why many people have multiple chemical sensitivities and why some therapies work for some but others feel worse.

We are in control of our epigenetics (diet, lifestyle, stress, toxic exposures, diet, exercise etc.) and these have a profound effect on our health and healing.

Using a full analysis of our DNA along with lab testing can help us understand why some people have severe health issues due to toxins in the environment and their lifestyles and why the body may be having issues processing these chemicals due to our unique genetic makeup. This was extensively discussed and thoughts on how to help people with compromised detoxification due to their exposure and genetic makeup was also discussed.

Please feel free to contact me if you would like more information on how to explore you DNA and epigenetics and how this can help you understand your health.

Please take about 2 minutes and watch this excellent video.
